“Dio non ci dà il dono della vita eterna. Il dono è la vita che abbiamo, e quando è finita è bell’e finita. […] E tutto quello che abbiamo al mondo sono gli altri. E tutto quello che abbiamo con loro è l’amore. E non l’amore come in qualche canzoncina da coglionazzi. Ma l’amore che è prendersi cura a vicenda, e scoparci a vicenda, e lasciarci vivere a vicenda come vogliamo vivere. E proteggerci a vicenda da tutta la merda che la vita ci scarica addosso. Che ci viene addosso perché questa è la vita, non perché qualche deficiente di Dio vuole metterci alla prova, o prepararci per l’aldilà, o perché pensa che siamo abbastanza forti per sostenerlo. La merda semplicemente esiste. E senza nessun altro motivo a parte che questa è la vita. Non c’è nessun Dio del cazzo.”

Se aprissi gli occhi, vedresti che la fine si avvicina, che il nostro mondo sta arrivando alla fine. E la fine si sta avvicinando, e il mondo sta finendo, a causa della fede. Si sta avvicinando perché Dio l’ha predetto. Perché l’uomo la provocherà.”
