Rita Hayworth, nome d'arte di Margarita Carmen Cansino , è stata un'attrice, ballerina e cantante statunitense.
Tra le più belle e seducenti donne della storia del cinema, Rita Hayworth rimane nell'immaginario collettivo come la prorompente e tentatrice Gilda, personaggio che ha portato con successo sullo schermo nell'omonimo film del 1946, ma che l'ha confinata nel ruolo stereotipato della pin-up, offuscando così le sue doti d'interprete. L'American Film Institute ha inserito la Hayworth al diciannovesimo posto tra le più grandi star della storia del cinema e l'attrice ha una sua stella sulla Hollywood Walk of Fame, al 1645 di Vine Street.
Dal 1949 al 1953 acquisì il rango di principessa consorte Aga Khan in virtù del matrimonio con il principe Aly Khan , erede dell'Aga Khan III, imam degli Ismailiti Nizariti, e padre di Karim Aga Khan IV: da lui ebbe a Losanna, il 28 dicembre 1949, una figlia, la principessa Yasmin.
