Alan Jay Perlis è stato un informatico statunitense, pioniere dell'informatica e dei primi linguaggi di programmazione.

Laureato in chimica e matematica rispettivamente nel 1943 e 1949 vinse il primo Premio Turing nel 1966 per la sua influenza nelle tecniche avanzate di programmazione e per la costruzione di numerosi compilatori. Partecipò allo sviluppo del linguaggio ALGOL. Wikipedia
