Frasi di Mark Knopfler
Mark Knopfler
Data di nascita: 12. Agosto 1949
Wikipedia
Frasi Mark Knopfler
„I'm tired of being in love and being all alone
When you're so far away from me.
I'm tired of making out on the telephone
Because you're so far away from me.“
So Far Away
Song lyrics, Brothers in Arms (1985)
„Here comes Johnny singing oldies, goldies
Be-Bop-A-Lula, Baby What I Say
Here comes Johnny singing I Gotta Woman
Down in the tunnels, trying to make it pay.
He got the action, he got the motion
Oh yeah the boy can play.
Dedication, devotion
Turning all the night time into the day.“
Walk of Life
Song lyrics, Brothers in Arms (1985)
„Getting crazy on the Waltzers, but it's the life that I choose.
Sing about the sixblade, sing about the switchback and a torture tattoo.
And I been riding on a ghost train where the cars they scream and slam,
And I don't know where I'll be tonight but I'd always tell you where I am.“
Tunnel of Love, written with Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein II
Song lyrics, Making Movies (1980)
„Why worry? There should be laughter after pain.
There should be sunshine after rain.
These things have always been the same.
So why worry now?“
Why Worry
Song lyrics, Brothers in Arms (1985)
„Last time I was sober, man I felt bad
Worst hangover that I ever had.
It took six hamburgers and scotch all night
Nicotine for breakfast just to put me right.
’Cause if you wanna run cool,
If you wanna run cool,
If you wanna run cool, you got to run
On heavy, heavy fuel.“
Heavy Fuel
Song lyrics, On Every Street (1991)
„Two men say they’re Jesus, one of them must be wrong.“
Industrial Disease
Song lyrics, Love over Gold (1982)
„Now look at them yo-yo's, that's the way you do it
You play the guitar on the MTV.
That ain't workin', that's the way you do it.
Money for nothin' and chicks for free.
Now that ain't workin', that's the way you do it
Lemme tell ya them guys ain't dumb.
Maybe get a blister on your little finger;
Maybe get a blister on your thumb.“
Money for Nothing, written with Sting
Song lyrics, Brothers in Arms (1985)
„The caretaker was crucified for sleeping at his post
They're refusing to be pacified, it's him they blame the most.
The watchdog's got rabies, the foreman's got the fleas.
And everyone's concerned about Industrial Disease.
There's panic on the switchboard, tongues are tied in knots.
Some come out in sympathy, some come out in spots.
Some blame the management, some blame the employees.
And everybody knows it's the Industrial Disease.“
Industrial Disease
Song lyrics, Love over Gold (1982)
„She gets rock n roll, a rock n roll station
And a rock n roll dream.
She's making movies on location.
She don't know what it means.
But the music make her wanna be the story.
And the story was whatever was the song, what it was.
Rollergirl don't worry.
D. J. plays the movies all night long.“
Skateaway
Song lyrics, Making Movies (1980)
