Arsène Charles Ernest Wenger è un allenatore di calcio ed ex calciatore francese.

Dall'ottobre 1996 guida l'Arsenal, di cui è il tecnico più vincente e più a lungo in carica di tutte le epoche. Dopo le dimissioni di Ronnie Mc Fall da tecnico del Portadown nel Marzo 2016, dopo oltre ventinove anni , è l'allenatore di club più longevo attualmente in carica.

Wenger e Carlo Ancelotti sono gli unici non britannici ad aver centrato il double, ovvero ad aver vinto il campionato e la Coppa d'Inghilterra nella medesima stagione. Nel 2004 divenne l'unico allenatore nella storia della Premier League a terminare l'annata senza subire una sconfitta. Nel 2010 è stato eletto Allenatore del decennio.

Laureato in ingegneria all'Università di Strasburgo, ha una laurea specialistica in economia. Parla correntemente francese, tedesco e inglese e ha una conoscenza di base di italiano, spagnolo e giapponese. Wenger ha la fama di essere un grande scopritore di talenti e di saperli valorizzare al massimo, soprattutto gli europei ma, negli ultimi anni, anche giocatori provenienti dall'Africa. Portò al Monaco George Weah, che in seguito divenne FIFA World Player of the Year con il Milan. Nel suo periodo all'Arsenal, Wenger ha messo sotto contratto giocatori giovani e relativamente sconosciuti, come Patrick Vieira, Nicolas Anelka, Cesc Fàbregas, Kolo Touré, Robin van Persie e Emmanuel Eboué, trasformandoli tutti in giocatori di valore mondiale. In particolare, la difesa che ha stabilito un nuovo record, essendo rimasta imbattuta per dieci gare consecutive nella fase finale della Champions League, era costata in tutto meno di 5 milioni di sterline.

A titolo statistico è l'unico allenatore, a tutto il 2015-16, ad avere perso la finale delle tre maggiori competizioni UEFA per club, la Coppa delle Coppe 1991-92 con il Monaco, Coppa UEFA 1999-2000 e la Champions League 2005-06 con l'Arsenal.
