Diane Julie Abbott è una politica britannica.
Nasce a Paddington da immigrati giamaicani, frequenta la Harrow County Grammar School e si laurea in storia al Newnham College a Cambridge.
È un membro del parlamento britannico del partito laburista per il collegio elettorale di Hackney North and Stoke Newington. Eletta per la prima volta nel 1987 è stata la prima donna di colore eletta alla House of Commons. È rimasta l'unica donna di colore nel parlamento per dieci anni, finché nel 1997 non venne eletta anche Oona King. È considerata più a sinistra rispetto alle politiche del Nuovo Partito Laburista.
