“Le speculazioni dimostrative della filosofia non possono arrivare a contraddire il contenuto della Legge, perché la verità non può mettersi in conflitto con la verità, ma al contrario è in accordo con essa e le rende testimonianza. Che questa sia la situazione effettiva risulta dal fatto che, quando una speculazione dimostrativa porta alla conoscenza di qualcosa di reale, le sole alternative possibili sono le seguenti: o la Legge non dice nulla al riguardo oppure dice qualcosa. Se non dice nulla, non ci può essere nessuna contraddizione. Se dice qualcosa, allora l'espressione esterna o concorda con ciò che è detto della speculazione dimostrativa o la contraddice. Se la contraddice allora diviene necessaria una interpretazione. Questa ha per scopo di ricavare il significato profondo di ciò che la parola della Legge esprime in modo figurato.”
