Nikita Sergeevič Chruščëv è stato un politico sovietico.
Dopo le lunghe lotte per il potere seguite alla morte di Iosif Stalin e il breve periodo di leadership di Georgij Malenkov, Chruščëv divenne il leader dell'Unione Sovietica. Fu il Primo Segretario del Comitato Centrale del Partito Comunista dell'Unione Sovietica a denunciare pubblicamente i crimini di Stalin, dando avvio alla cosiddetta "destalinizzazione", e anche il primo leader sovietico a visitare gli Stati Uniti , paese con cui intese stabilire un rapporto di pacifica coesistenza.
