Thomas Hobbes è stato un filosofo e matematico britannico, sostenitore del giusnaturalismo e autore nel 1651 dell'opera di filosofia politica Leviatano.

Oltre che di teoria politica si interessò e scrisse anche di storia, geometria, etica ed economia.

La descrizione di Hobbes della natura umana come sostanzialmente competitiva ed egoista, esemplificata dalle frasi Bellum omnium contra omnes e Homo homini lupus , ha trovato riscontro nel campo dell'antropologia politica. Wikipedia
